Cincinnati needs to lead the way into a cleaner future and be ready to use renewable energy to power our lives. Electrification will prepare us to reach that cleaner, greener future.

We have work to do in order to achieve our Green Cincinnati Plan goals: 50% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030 and 100% carbon neutrality by 2050. How will we get there?

Electrification

Our current grid is powered by fossil fuels like coal and natural gas. Preparing our buildings to be fully electric will enable us to integrate renewable energy sources as they come online. Visit the Natural Resources Defense Council website for more details.
