“Visions of Tomorrow”: Kids’ Climate Art Competition (June 13, Mason)

The future isn’t something that happens to kids-it’s something they get to imagine. Start creating now. June 13 is closer than you think.

What if tomorrow looked like their drawing?

Close your eyes for a second. Green rooftops. Clean rivers you can actually swim in. Wildlife coming back. Neighbors who look out for each other and the planet.

That’s the whole point of “Visions of Tomorrow”-EcoPal’s Climate Art Competition at Our Planet, Our Turn: Youth Climate Action Fest in Mason on Saturday, June 13, 2026. Part of Cincinnati’s first-ever Climate Week, this competition asks one simple question:

What do you hope our world looks like in the years ahead?

Open to all kids under 18-preschoolers with crayons, middle-schoolers with bold ideas, and teens with a point of view. If they can imagine it, we want to see it on paper or canvas.

Who can enter

Any young artist under 18 is welcome. No experience required. No entry fee. One piece per artist (unless your RSVP confirmation says otherwise).

Whether your child is 5 or 17, the same rules apply: create at home, bring it to the fest, and let their vision speak for itself.

How it works (four steps, zero stress)

1. Create at home

Drawings, paintings, collages, mixed-media-everything counts. Crayons, markers, watercolor, recycled paper, old magazines from the recycling bin. There is no “right” style. Only their vision.

2. Pack it with care

Slide the finished piece into a folder or flat tote so it arrives at the fest looking as good as it did on the kitchen table.

3. Bring it to ORCA Coworking - Saturday, June 13

Big Hall · 408 4th Ave, Mason, OH. Youth volunteers will collect entries at the event. Every piece gets seen.

4. Put a name on the back

Write the artist’s first name and age on the back of the artwork so we can celebrate every young creator by name. Age must be under 18 at the time of the event.

This isn’t about perfection. It’s about creativity, hope, and originality.

Standout entries earn eco-prizes-rewards worth showing off. The best pieces don’t just hang on a wall; they start a conversation worth having: What if we actually built this?

Staring at a blank page? Here are three starters kids love:

What does your neighborhood look like when everyone cares for the planet?
Draw an animal you’d love to protect-and the world it deserves.
What would “tomorrow” look like if you were in charge?

Parents: you’re allowed to suggest ideas. You’re not allowed to take over the brush.

Why this matters (even if they’re “just” coloring)

Climate action can feel heavy. Art makes it human. When a kid draws a future they believe in, they’re not making a craft project-they’re declaring what they’re willing to work for.

That’s collective action. That’s how lasting change starts-one crayon, one hope, one Saturday in Mason.
